Preseason Training Kicks Off at T3 Performance for 12U Lombardy!
As we kick off another exciting season of baseball, our 12U Lombardy team is already off to a strong start with indoor preseason training at T3 Performance in Avon, Ohio! It’s a great facility that gives us the tools, leadership and space we need to focus on building strength, conditioning, and developing our players’ skills before we hit the field for the outdoor season.
Why T3 Performance?
T3 Performance isn’t just your average training space—it's one of the best sports performance facilities around. With top-tier equipment, a dedicated training staff, and an atmosphere that encourages growth, it’s the perfect environment for our young athletes to fine-tune their mechanics, build confidence, and get game-ready.
Focus on Fundamentals
During these early weeks of training, our main goal is to build a solid foundation. Baseball is a game of precision, and it all starts with mastering the fundamentals. Our indoor sessions will be focusing on:
Hitting drills: Refining swings, working on hand-eye coordination, and increasing bat speed.
Fielding: Building quick reaction times and smooth glove work, especially in the infield.
Base running: Improving technique, speed, and understanding of the game’s pace.
Our players are excited about getting to work, and we've seen some great improvement already, even though we're still in the indoor phase of our training. The goal is to gradually ramp up the intensity and focus on the mental and physical aspects that will make our team a force to reckon with when the season starts.
Strength and Conditioning
Preseason isn't just about skill development; it’s also about preparing the body for the demands of the game. The VELO strength and conditioning programs at T3 Performance are designed to help young athletes improve their overall fitness, prevent injuries, and increase their endurance. Whether it's improving speed with sprints or increasing strength through weight training, our 12U Lombardy team is getting a comprehensive workout to get them into peak form.
T3's expert trainers are guiding our players through age-appropriate exercises that build athleticism without risking overtraining. Flexibility, core strength, and explosive power are just a few of the key areas we’re focusing on, all while keeping things fun and engaging for our younger athletes.
Team Bonding & Mental Game
Another key aspect of preseason training is team bonding. At this stage, it’s important not just to develop skills but to start building a strong team dynamic. We're doing activities that encourage communication, teamwork, and trust. Baseball is a sport that requires a lot of collaboration on and off the field, and the sooner our players start building that chemistry, the better they'll perform come game time.
Additionally, we’re also focusing on the mental side of the game. Baseball is a sport of failure, and resilience is key. We’re working on strategies to stay positive, handle adversity, and keep the right mindset when it’s time to compete.
What’s Next?
As we move closer to the outdoor season, our players will start seeing how all the skills and conditioning come together. The goal is to enter the season ready to play at our best, and with the dedication and hard work we've already seen, there’s no doubt this group will shine.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our preseason journey at T3 Performance. We're gearing up for an awesome season, and we can't wait to see how our players develop over the next few months!
